Name: Oliver Queen/Green Arrow Door: Door Pass? https://duplicitymemes.dreamwidth.org/9827.html?thread=20631395#cmt20631395 Canon: DCTV Canon Point: Post-Supergirl s05e09 Age:34 Appearance: Here History: https://arrow.fandom.com/wiki/Oliver_Queen#As%20Green%20Arrow Personality: Oliver is a very PRIDEFUL man. he had a tendency to think he knows best in how things should be done, and that his experience and his opinions should be weighed heavily. While he has never used those words exactly, it shows in how he tends to form a plan of action and act, not even considering consulting others, most of the time. This does, sometimes, get him into trouble, as often with those he loves as with the enemy he is fighting at the time. In canon, this has been reflected many times in how he acts toward his team, Team Arrow, both old and new, who he will often not consult at all when forming a plan of action, even when it is something they have experience in. Such as his dealings with Ray Palmer. A simple conversation with Felicity would have solved a lot, and avoided a lot of problems, and yet, because he believed he knew best, and had already figured out what to do, he did not even think of consulting with her. Another time this has occurred was when he was involved in the Vandal Savage affair. He immediately took charge, sometimes outright silencing others when he different with them in opinion or action style. Some have managed to get through this, but many never do. To this day, he still gets angry at Flash, one fo his best friends, and even Felicity sometimes, his wife who he loves, when he finds his own opinion on how things should happen is contradicted by their own. This can be seen, with Felicity, in Season 7, a lot, in their different ideas about Diaz, and in his acting without consulting her on the matter of his sister. With Flash, this can be seen most recently in the last two crossovers, where he argued with Barry Allen(The Flash), over how the other worked, seeing Barry's style as childish and not serious enough. Despite his respect for the other man, even sometimes thinking of him as a brother, he still saw his own ways as superior. This is also shown in the deal he made with the Monitor. Instead of consulting the very smart, very experienced people he knew, he immediately made a plan and kept it secret, thinking he had made the choice he believed he had to make, and not believing anyone else could or should be allowed to choose differently. While some of this was his love for the others, and his desire to sacrifice himself for them, it also stemmed from his arrogant belief that hios plans and his ways were better than thgose of others. Oliver has a lot of ANGER that has never left him. It was there in his childhood, when he felt like he could do anything and never get his parents to take him seriously, so why should he care? It was there in the wake of the loss of the Gambit, when he raged at the world, at Slade, and even at John and his family. It was there in his return, where he channeled that anger into his work as the Hood, then as the Arrow, and finally as the Green Arrow. Only in the last few years has he gotten any kind of hold on his anger, but it still roars out sometimes, such as in the example cited above, when he exploded at Barry over the difference in their working styles, despite a deep respect and care for the other man. It also played a part in his final year before the Crisis, where he let his anger, several times, get in the way of solving things with Emiko, his sister, and almost lost his life in several confrontations that he would not have rushed into, had he not shown such rage at her words and actions. Oliver has a deep-seated DISTRUST of others. Between his return to the city, when he saw the world as a lot of people being corrupt and only doing the right thing because they were forced to on fear of death, and his keeping of secrets from even those closest to him, he has a lack of trust in others, even those closest, those who he loves. It is obvious that he would rather risk losing them, sometimes, than be honest. He has had a hard time not lying or avoiding keeping secrets, even when he knew it might be risky to his relationship to Felicity, in the last two seasons, including his entire deal with the Monitor, which he only admitted to her when he had to. This distrust has been formed both of actual betrayals and of his arrogance and his feeling of having a lot of weight on his shoulders. The more vigilantes that showed up, the more his shoulders felt heavier, and the more he kept secrets. This showed in several crossovers, when he kept close to the vest contingencies he had for emergencies, until they were revealed, such as when he had an arrow to stop the anti-Superman and had not revealed it, because he got it from the Monitor, and did not want to reveal any of his dealings with that being. Oliver is dedicated and PERSISTENT. he has an ability to battle back from defeats and setbacks, sometimes immediately and sometimes after a short time of depression and feeling lost. He draws inspiration in this from people he has known, Shado, Slade, his father, Diggle, Felicity, and more, all inspire him to come back form defeats that, by most measures of reality, he should not, and that others could not, come back from. This has shown in the Crisis, when he faced defeat and even death and still stepped into a new destiny, a new way of coming back and helping to save the worlds. And also earlier in the show, when he survived the island, and Amanda Waller, Russia, his first encounter with magic, and his return. When he was defeated by the Dark Archer, when he was nearly killed by Ra's al Ghul, when he was imprisoned by the government. Each time, he found a way to come back, to fight back, from the edge of possibility. And each time, he succeeded in the end. Oliver is also a strong leader and person who, when he wants to, can communicate with others well, when he can get past his anger and his pride. Sometimes, he is not good at this, and does not like leading, even as he rarely trusts others to do it for him. Which is, really, often how he sees it, something that has shown in every crossover. Oliver is very good at making skilled business hunches of both the educated and purely on the fly kind. He has a tendency to be right rather than wrong about such things when he actually concentrates on them and devotes the time needed. While he does not always put business as his priority and it suffers when he does not, he showed in several episodes an almost instinctive ability to pick up the words and skills necessary to run a business. He just, most of the time, did not, and does not, care. When he does not let his anger destroy the peace he has learned, Oliver can summon an almost inhuman peace in the middle of chaos, showing his ability to hyperfocus in ways that seem beyond belief, in battles, such as this rematch against Ra's al Ghul, where, by pulling peace and calm to himself, he managed to outmatch the far more experienced foe. It has also shown in times of severe pain and weakness, such as when he returned from near death, and in situations where he was wielding new skills, such as when he developed, very quickly, the light magic ability he learned from John Constantine. A weakness he has is his tendency to get in his own way, to overthink, over doubt, himself, his abilities, and his worthiness. He has shown this a lot, both in his decision to nearly abandon his family, his business, and his relationship with Felicity multiple times, because he felt he was not food enough, or would fail, and even a time or two when he almost abandoned life itself. This brings up the fact that he suffers from sometimes suicidal depression, something shown several times through the series, when he literally said he should have been and should be the one who dies, in multiple situations, showing a lack of ability to value himself when gripped with it. Even his 'heroic' sacrifice of himself for Barry and Kara showed some signs of the fact that he felt he was just not nearly as good or as valuable or as important as them, and therefore that he should be killed, instead of them. Powers and Abilities: At the bottom, there is a list of his long list of abilities and of his Light Power. https://arrow.fandom.com/wiki/Oliver_Queen#As%20Green%20Arrow Inventory: the quiver (with up to 10 arrows) with his bow the suit (pouches empty) Samples: As he knelt on the rooftop, Oliver stared out over the city. He wasn't entirely sure what he was doing but he had known he needed air. He needed to think, and for that, he needed to be alone. He hoped that he hadn't scared or that he wasn't worrying Felicity too much, but sometimes, after everything that had happened to him, he needed a little quiet, a little space. Despite his All Too Human desire to be touched, for sex, and for intimacy, he also had a sometimes very powerful desire to not be touched, to have space around him. This has led him over the years to him going back multiple times, back to the island that he had spent so much time on. Back to purgatory. He wasn't entirely sure tonight why he had sought out solitude but he did know that he had a lot to think about. His reunion with Felicity had gone better than expected, but it also had had a lot of new information to absorb and a lot of things that he was having a hard time dealing with. He loved Felicity. Nothing could change that, nothing ever would, nothing ever had, and more than anything else right now he wanted to be the man she needed, a person she could count on. A partner, friend, husband, and lover who she could and would be proud of. He wanted to be that man who could face the things that happened in this city. He now wondered if he was up to the task. It was an odd thing, this self-doubt. He had not often had it or had to deal with it. He'd been possessed of confidence his entire life. And yet, here he was hiding on a rooftop, trying to figure out exactly what he felt. Maybe, in the end, he was afraid that he was too weak to do what needed to be done. Looking out over the city Oliver found himself wondering once again at the fact that Felicity actually not only cared for him but loved him. What miracle was it, what strange mystery could it be that made a woman so intelligent and so strong love a broken man like him? He wasn't sure that he'd ever be sure of the answer, but he knew he wanted to be worthy of the love and the respect she showed him. He wanted to be a worthy partner to this woman who had grown so much. And, in addition to all of that, he wanted to be equal to the task of this city. Now, he wasn't sure yet if that meant in finding a way to beat the city, or if that meant finding a way to survive it, but either way, he knew he couldn't do it alone. He settled on the rooftop, finally, breathing slowly, and let his mind settle, focusing on relaxing, on letting go. As tension flowed out and peace flowed in, he heard a cry from the streets of the city. He stood, checking his gear. For now, the time to think was over. Now, it was time to go to work. No matter what else he was, Oliver knew he was one thing. He was a man of action who did his best, and he would do his best here, for the city and for Felicity.
